Amcorp Gemas 10MW Solar Farm Selling RM11million Worth of Electricity to TNB Every Year

Photovoltaic (PV) solar plant at Gemas currently running at full capacity generating 10.25MW renewable energy feeding TNB around RM11million worth of feed-in-tariff (FiT) electrical power per year, for 21 years of contracts. Or in details Armcorp Gemas Solar Plant produce electricity and sell it to TNB at the premium FiT rate of return of RM0.874/kwh of clean renewal energy.

The Amcorp Gemas 10.25MW Solar Power Plant consist of GCSB's 4.5MW power unit connected with CASB's respective 4.5MW and 1.25MW power units. The photovoltaic solar plant also praised for its close proximity to TNB's Gemas Power Management Unit, hence reducing the interconnection expenses between the two. Upon running starting on 2013, this PV solar plant was then recognized as the largest single site solar power plant in Malaysia. For those eco-activist in mind, this solar power plant offset an estimated 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission every year or equivalent of planting 256,725 trees.
